Giubileo 2025: mostra 'L'arte dei papi' a Castel Sant'Angelo con 38 opere da Perugino a Barocci

In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee, Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome will feature the exhibition 'L'arte dei papi. Da Perugino a Barocci' from March 6 to August 31, 2025. Curated by Arnaldo Colasanti alongside Annamaria Bava, the director of the Galleria Sabauda in Turin, the show presents 38 paintings that delve into the connections between Christian and pagan Rome, as well as evangelical themes such as freedom and power. The exhibition is divided into eight thematic sections, including spiritual childhood, the face of the Virgin Mary, the school of forgiveness, and the wisdom of saints. Notable historical artists include Andrea del Sarto and Federico Barocci, alongside contemporary works by Bruno Ceccobelli and others. Colasanti emphasizes the exhibition as a reflective experience tied to the Jubilee.
