Gipi's 'La terra dei figli' to Be Adapted into Film by Claudio Cupellini
Claudio Cupellini, director of 'Gomorra – La serie', will direct the film adaptation of Gianni 'Gipi' Pacinotti's graphic novel 'La terra dei figli'. Produced by Indigo Film, the screenplay is co-written by Guido Iuculano and Filippo Gravino. Filming begins autumn 2019, with a potential 2020 release. Published by Coconino Press in 2016, the graphic novel won the 2018 ACBD French Critics' Prize. Set in an unspecified post-apocalyptic world, the story follows survivors in small colonies speaking broken Italian and worshipping a bizarre god. Gipi, also a filmmaker with features 'L'ultimo terrestre' (2012) and 'Il ragazzo più felice del mondo' (2018), has a strong cinematic background. The news was reported by La Stampa.
