Giovanni Ozzola's 'Through a Day' at Galleria Cracco in Milan
The fourth installment of Galleria Cracco, a project by chef Carlo Cracco and Rosa Fanti, features Tuscan artist Giovanni Ozzola (born 1982 in Florence). The project transforms the lunettes of Ristorante Cracco in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele into an exhibition space promoting contemporary Italian artists. Ozzola's 'Through a Day' uses photography and backlighting to create a trompe-l'oeil effect: a gray concrete wall with graffiti contrasts with a sunset over the sea, depicting the view from the artist's studio. The work is a collaboration with SkyArte and Paridevitale, with Artissima serving as Guest Curator for the project, which runs until April 2020. Artissima is preparing for its fair from November 1-3, and has previously partnered with Campari Art Prize. Ozzola describes the Neo-Renaissance structure of the gallery as a physical and symbolic passage, confronting the present between harmony and contrast, akin to Cracco's cuisine.
