Giovanni Morbin Retrospective Opens Drodesera Festival at Centrale Fies

The 38th Drodesera festival, titled SUPERCONTINENT², will commence on July 20 at Centrale Fies in Dro, featuring a retrospective of Giovanni Morbin (b. 1956, Valdagno), under the curation of Denis Isaia. This exhibition highlights Morbin's artistic journey through various mediums, including paintings, photographs, and remnants of performances, with an emphasis on themes surrounding his body and performance art. Notable pieces presented include 'Guanti' (1984-85), 'Bud (germoglio)' (1997), and 'Strumento a perdifiato' (1995), which will be part of the opening performance titled 'Concerto a perdifiato.' Additionally, politically charged works such as 'L'angolo del saluto' (2006) and 'forza Nuova' (2005) address current societal issues. Co-curated by Filippo Andreatta and Barbara Boninsegna, the festival will feature live performances, international acts, and discussions, all within the overarching 'Supercontinente' theme.
