Giovanni Korompay retrospective opens at Wolfsoniana in Genoa
The 'Giovanni Korompay. Un'antologica' exhibition is currently on display at the Wolfsoniana in Genoa Nervi, showcasing the works of the Venetian Futurist artist (1904–1988). Curated by Alex Casagrande, Matteo Fochessati, Franco Tagliapietra, and Anna Vyazemtseva, this retrospective will be available until November 1, 2026. It includes approximately sixty pieces borrowed from both public museums and private collections. Born in Venice, Korompay was a student of Ettore Tito and embraced Futurism in 1922. His prominent works feature 'Rumore di locomotiva' (1922) and 'Alta velocità' (1934). After marrying Magda Falchetto and relocating to Ferrara, he encountered various career obstacles, including vandalism at the 1968 Venice Biennale, yet he continued to create art until his passing in 1988.
