Giovanni Gerosa on Fashion as Narrative and the Launch of Capitolo VII

Giovanni Gerosa, born in 1996 in Lecco, Italy, is an emerging fashion designer whose label GIO merges craftsmanship, chromatic experimentation, and narrative depth. After studying in Milan and working with both established brands and startups, he launched Capitolo VII, which he describes as a manifesto rather than a simple collection. Each garment is intended as a fragment of experience and a tool for self-expression. Gerosa emphasizes the creative gesture over the final product, viewing color as a primary ally that can break barriers and alter mood. Knitwear is central to his work, allowing extensive experimentation with stitches, jacquards, and textures. He produces exclusively on a pre-order or made-to-order basis to minimize waste and uphold sustainability. Gerosa insists on manufacturing entirely in Italy, prioritizing quality despite the challenges for an unknown name.
