Giovanni Gaggia and Mattia Casabianca Create Limited-Edition Easter Works

artist · 2026-04-26

Artist Giovanni Gaggia and pastry chef Mattia Casabianca have collaborated on two limited-edition Easter creations, BLU and NUVOLA, merging contemporary art, haute pastry, and material research. The project originated from Casabianca's passion for chocolate and traditional leavened goods, treated as architectural materials. Gaggia developed the concept and visual identity, inspired by a verse from Swiss poet Franco Beltrametti: “non occorre cadere dalle nuvole” (you don't need to fall from the clouds). The packaging, made from recycled denim sourced from Ideal Blue – Gruppo Florence, is designed as an autonomous artistic object. For BLU, the denim bag is intended to outlive the seasonal event. NUVOLA, a dove-shaped Easter cake, also features a denim wrapper. The denim will later be transformed into a caparison for a white horse, embroidered with Beltrametti's phrase, and exhibited in a future museum show in Taranto.
