Giosetta Fioroni's Rome Studio Opens to Public as Foundation Reaches Full Operations
The Fondazione Goffredo Parise e Giosetta Fioroni in Rome has reached full operational capacity, opening the historic studio of artist Giosetta Fioroni to the city. Located at via San Francesco di Sales 66 in Trastevere, the foundation was established in 2018 by Fioroni (born Rome, 1932) to preserve and promote the work of both Fioroni and her late partner, writer Goffredo Parise (Vicenza 1929 – Treviso 1986). Fioroni, the only female member of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, has worked across collage, assemblage boxes, watercolors, and ceramics, and received the 2023 Elio Pagliarani Lifetime Achievement Award. The foundation houses Fioroni's archive and part of Parise's archival holdings. Director Giulia Lotti announced upcoming initiatives: guided archive visits, readings of Parise's texts, screenings of Fioroni's films, and talks on art and literature. The foundation will also offer scholarships, prizes, collaborations with young artists, partnerships with universities and research institutes, and exhibitions. A General Catalogue of Fioroni's works is in preparation, and digitalization of the archive has begun. The foundation aims to become a cultural reference point for Rome's contemporary art scene.
