Giorgio Morandi's Country Home Hosts Group Exhibition on Landscape

The Casa Museo Morandi in Grizzana Morandi, Bologna, is hosting a group exhibition titled 'Un’Etica per la Natura' (An Ethics for Nature), featuring works by five contemporary artists. This is the second time the museum has invited young artists to exhibit in the spaces once inhabited by Giorgio Morandi, following 'Il Paesaggio Necessario' in 2012. It is also the first time the exhibition extends beyond the domestic rooms into the barns that Morandi frequently painted. The show includes a video by Elisa Laraia in the living room, photographs by Davide Monteleone of melancholic Russian landscapes, digital works by Karin Andersen blending fairy tales and genetic imagery, oil paintings by Ettore Frani exploring the sacred through nature, and sculptures by Silvia Zagni transforming natural elements into fragile forms. Morandi spent summers in Grizzana from 1913 onward, initially hosted by mayor Gaetano Veggetti, later at the Pensione Italia, and finally in a villa built in 1959 with three large barns. This was the only home where he had a proper studio. His sister Maria Teresa donated the villa to the municipality in 1994, stipulating it become a museum; the rooms remain intact as they were in his lifetime.
