Giorgio Griffa Foundation Opens in Turin with 'Inside' Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Fondazione Giorgio Griffa has opened in Turin's Vanchiglietta district, housed in a former Michelin industrial building that already contains studios for seven artists. The foundation, initiated by Griffa's son Cesare Griffa and grandson Giulio Caresio, aims to preserve the artist's archive and promote contemporary art. Its inaugural exhibition, 'Inside,' features works by Marco Gastini, Giorgio Griffa, Luigi Mainolfi, Nunzio, Elisa Sighicelli, Grazia Toderi, and Gilberto Zorio. The show includes Griffa's 2024 work 'Disordine HP' and a 1973 long canvas, curated by Sébastien Delot. The foundation's model echoes the Fondazione Merz, alternating monographic shows with site-specific projects. Griffa stated his work since 1967 has focused on 'non-finito' and drawings belonging to everyone's hand, emphasizing community.
