Giorgio Galotti turns Milan home into Ludoteca art space
Gallerist Giorgio Galotti has transformed his private Milan residence into Ludoteca, a public-facing project that challenges the instability of the pandemic era. Born in Rome, Galotti moved to Turin in 2015 to found gallery GRGLT, which became nomadic in autumn 2019. He also launched the DAMA fair during Turin art week and co-founded the Hypermaremma festival with Carlo Pratis. Ludoteca occupies Galotti's own home, where artworks by his represented artists now coexist with his living quarters. The first guest is Berlin-based artist Thomas Kratz, presenting works from his 2016 solo show Salve, accompanied by an essay by Marco Paltrinieri meant to be listened to in person—a contradiction that underscores the project's reflection on virtual and physical space. Ludoteca redefines the domestic environment as a venue for art, probing the gap between digital and real experience.
