Giorgio Galotti's Pensiero Magico: A Quarantine Archive of Thoughts

publication · 2026-04-27

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Turin gallerist Giorgio Galotti launched Pensiero Magico, a project that collects written thoughts from artists and gallerists on postcards, deliberately avoiding images. The initiative aims to reflect on the present and lay the groundwork for a renewed art system, as Galotti had already announced the transformation of his gallery GRGLT into a nomadic project in summer 2019. Participants include Marzia Migliora, Massimo De Carlo, Franco Noero, and many others. Galotti plans to eventually publish the contributions as a book and hopes to exhibit them in an institution. The project's name references the psychological concept of magical thinking.
