Giorgio Fasol's AGIVERONA Collection on Show Across Three Sienese Palaces

From June 25 to October 15, 2016, the exhibition 'Che il vero possa confutare il falso' (May the True Refute the False) presents around fifty works from the AGIVERONA Collection, assembled by Giorgio Fasol since the 1970s, across three historic venues in Siena: Santa Maria della Scala, Palazzo Pubblico, and Accademia dei Fisiocritici. Curated by Luigi Fassi and Alberto Salvadori, the show juxtaposes contemporary art with the city's heritage, exploring themes of truth and illusion. Artists include Mark Dion, Berlinde de Bruyckere, Vanessa Safavi, Cyprien Gaillard, Michail Sailstorfer, Steve Roden, Judith Hopf, Rashid Johnson, Abdel Abdessemed, Anri Sala, Georges Adeagabo, Adrian Paci, Nari Ward, Franco Vaccari, Tino Sehgal, and Ivan Moudov. The project is promoted by Associazione FuoriCampo and Associazione Culturing, with support from the Comune di Siena. It also marks the launch of ArtRaising, a crowdfunding platform for art patronage developed with Amplificatore Culturale. Fasol emphasizes the importance of making art accessible, stating, 'No one is an island; I have always thought it my duty to make the works of this collection travel as much as possible.'
