Giorgio Armani: First Fashion Exhibition at Pinacoteca di Brera

exhibition · 2026-04-03

The Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan will host its first-ever fashion exhibition, 'Giorgio Armani: Milano con amore,' from September 24, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Originally planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Armani brand, the show has taken on a commemorative tone following the designer's recent death. Over 120 garments will be displayed alongside artworks from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, reimagining the museum's gallery path. The exhibition highlights Armani's deep connection to the Brera district, where he chose to live and work. In 1993, the Accademia di Belle Arti awarded him an honorary degree for his stylistic coherence and ability to merge function with creative fantasy. Chiara Rostagno, vice-director of the Pinacoteca, describes the show as a unique dialogue between Armani, the museum, and its artistic heritage. Director Angelo Crespi notes that Armani embodies Brera's culture of art, research, and innovation, and that the exhibition celebrates the maison's fifty years of absolute talent and inimitable style. The display aims to surprise visitors with chromatic and material contrasts, fostering knowledge through direct experience of master craftsmanship.
