Giora Releases Queer Experimental Pop EP 'FREEWAY' on Holypop Label
Giora, a multidisciplinary artist based in London, has launched their latest EP titled 'FREEWAY' under their own label, Holypop. This six-track collection delves into themes such as existentialism, personal empowerment, liberation, and truth, merging experimental pop with inspirations from Depeche Mode, SOPHIE, and Charli XCX. The standout track, 'LONG LIVE MUSIC,' features an 80s-inspired synth melody celebrating the freeing essence of music. Giora collaborated with Czech producer Oliver Torr for production and mixing, while Canadian composer Zac Tiessen handled the mastering. Notably, Giora trained in orchestral composition at Juilliard in New York and is self-taught in electronic music. Their 2023 album 'It's So Quiet But I Hear You' received acclaim from CLASH Magazine. They have shared stages with artists like Isabella Lovestory and performed at various venues across Europe, including the CREEPY TEEPEE Festival and notable spots in London. Their sound installations have also been showcased at Rich Mix and Stanley Arts, with Holypop actively promoting the queer experimental music scene in the UK and Europe.
