Ginevra Grigolo curates Studio G7 retrospective at MAMbo
Gallerist Ginevra Grigolo has organized a comprehensive exhibition on the 44-year history of Galleria Studio G7 at MAMbo in Bologna. The show, proposed by Grigolo to the city's culture assessor Bruna Gambarelli, features around 180 works by 71 artists, along with issues of the magazine G7 Studio (1976–1981), photographs, and documents. A highlight is a new wall drawing by David Tremlett, marking 20 years of collaboration. Grigolo, who opened her space in 1973 after working at Galleria La Loggia, brought major Pop Art and performance figures to Bologna, including Marina Abramović and Ulay, who stayed for a month. She expresses skepticism about young artists, citing a lack of knowledge of conceptual art, and notes a recent cultural revival in Bologna thanks to MAST. The exhibition includes a public program of talks with artists and critics.
