Gillo Dorfles’s lifelong bond with Paestum explored in comprehensive exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-27

At Torre 28 Arte Contemporanea, the MMMAC – Museo Materiali Minimi d’Arte Contemporanea showcases "Gillo Dorfles. La sua Paestum," curated by Nuvola Lista. This exhibition delves into Gillo Dorfles's (Trieste, 1910 – Milan, 2018) affinity for Paestum, which he regarded as a source of inspiration for creativity. In collaboration with the Parco Archeologico di Paestum e Velia, led by Gabriel Zuchtriegel, the display includes ceramics, sculptures, paintings, jewelry, and miokinetic materials. The exhibition is organized into five sections, featuring texts by Dorfles, and follows previous exhibitions in Milan and Rome. A standout element is an unseen video of Dorfles at work, along with original wine label drawings for "Gillo," created by Giuseppe Pagano.
