Giles Duley's War Photography Exhibition at Casa Emergency in Milan
Casa Emergency, the new meeting and events space of the organization founded by Gino Strada and his wife Teresa in Milan in 1994, opened in September and is now launching its programming with a major international photography exhibition by Giles Duley (London, 1971). The exhibition documents the journey of war victims in Mosul from first aid to rehabilitation, supported by Emergency's programs in Iraq, which the photojournalist visited in February. Duley initially worked as a photographer for music artists such as Oasis, Prodigy, Charlatans, Underworld, and Pulp, before dedicating himself fully to photojournalism to give voice to war victims. He himself was maimed by a landmine in Afghanistan. His images of the refugee crisis in Europe were projected during Massive Attack's 2016 tour. The exhibition includes an excerpt at the Triennale di Milano.
