Gilberto Zorio's Energy-Driven Works at Galleria de' Foscherari

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Gilberto Zorio (born 1944 in Andorno Micca) presents a solo exhibition at Galleria de' Foscherari in Bologna, showcasing his ongoing research into energy and cosmic forces. The show features stars, javelins, alembics, and bubbling ampoules, with darkness intermittently revealing phosphorescent constellations on the walls, evoking a renewed "cold" informalism with intense "micro-emotive" quotient. In light, visitors can examine mysterious catalysts of cosmic forces: overturned canoes, concave forms, and suspended spiral antennas that, in the artist's vision, "oscillate and fluidify." The magic of chemical processes is amplified through symbols and instruments of ancient, hermetic knowledge, rediscovered and reinvented by Zorio for a contemporary aesthetic dimension. The exhibition was reviewed by Pasquale Fameli.
