Gilbert & George at Fondazione Pino Pascali in Polignano a Mare

On June 24, 2017, the Fondazione Pino Pascali in Polignano a Mare launched a new format called "Un film, un'opera" as part of the Art/Movie festival coordinated by Santa Nastro. The event featured a roundtable discussion with artists Gilbert & George, journalist Alessandra Mammì, and curator Mario Codognato. The same day, the film "The World of Gilbert & George" (1981) was screened in collaboration with the Cineteca Nazionale di Roma. Art historian Lia De Venere presented "Cherry Blossom No.6" (1974) from the Angelo Baldassarre Collection in Bari, part of a twelve-piece cycle. An educational area with didactic materials and documentaries complemented the event.
