Gígur Visitor Centre in Iceland by SP(R)INT Studio and Nissen Richards Studio
The Gígur Visitor Centre, situated in northern Iceland, has been finalized by SP(R)INT Studio and Nissen Richards Studio for Vatnajökull National Park and the Environment Agency of Iceland. Spanning 400 square meters, the facility features a reception area, café, and shop, and was completed in 2025. Claudio Parada Nunes provided the photography. The design incorporates both interior and exhibition elements from the two studios, with production handled by Spekta and lighting by Hildiberg. Curated by Nina Vuga, the centre focuses on enhancing visitor engagement through educational exhibits on geology, ecology, and cultural heritage, highlighting sustainability and local resources. It serves as a significant draw for tourists visiting the Icelandic highlands and the Vatnajökull glacier, the largest ice cap in Europe.
