Giardino Torre in Real Bosco di Capodimonte reopens with 600 citrus plants

The Giardino Torre in the Real Bosco di Capodimonte in Naples has reopened after a long restoration. The project, led by director Sylvain Bellenger and managed by Delizie Reali, involved two companies: Euphorbia S.r.l., specialized in historic garden care, and Minerva Restauri S.r.l., focused on conservation of cultural heritage. The garden now features approximately 600 citrus plants—orange, mandarin, chinotto, bergamot, grapefruit, and lemon—along with vegetables, aromatic herbs, fruit trees (pear, peach, apricot, plum, cherry), and exotic fruits favored by the Bourbons such as currants, pineapples, and raspberries. The restoration also included 18th-century buildings, notably the iconic Casamento Torre. The site offers guided tours and plans additional services: a bistrot, café, educational labs for schools, and cultural meeting rooms. On May 12, 2024, Wine&TheCity, an aperitivo with jazz music, will be held at La Stufa dei Fiori Tisaneria-Bistrot. This reopening follows the April 2023 loan of sixty masterpieces from Capodimonte to the Louvre, part of broader efforts to strengthen ties between the site and the city.
