Gianni Minà's 'Fame di storie' book and exhibition in Naples

The Fondazione Gianni Minà launches with a posthumous photobook and exhibition titled 'Fame di storie' at Magazzini Fotografici in Naples, curated by Yvonne De Rosa. The project showcases Minà's legendary agenda containing contacts of Muhammad Ali, Gabriel García Márquez, Robert De Niro, and Fidel Castro, alongside photographs and notes from his 60-year career as a journalist for Rai and founder of the magazine 'Latinoamerica e tutti i Sud del mondo'. The exhibition runs until July 30, 2023, and features iconic portraits of personalities like Sepúlveda, Scorsese, Pantani, Maradona, and Ray Charles, as well as Minà's first tape recorder, his Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter with a QR code to hear his voice, and a record-breaking 16-hour interview with Fidel Castro. Minà, who died on March 27, 2023, personally requested the exhibition before his death. The foundation is led by his wife Loredana Macchietti Minà. The book is published by Roberto Nicolucci Editore, designed by Giulia Reali of studio almagreal. De Rosa describes the display as a 'focus' rather than a traditional exhibition, with photos arranged like fireworks without chronology, emphasizing the human connections in Minà's journalism.
