Gianmaria Potenza: Elaborating New Codes at Palazzo Ferro Fini, Venice
A retrospective exhibition titled 'Elaborating New Codes' dedicated to Venetian sculptor Gianmaria Potenza (b. 1936) is on view at Palazzo Ferro Fini, headquarters of the Regional Council of Veneto. Curated by Valeria Loddo, the show features around thirty works across four rooms, focusing on the 'Elaboratori' series begun in the early 1990s. Potenza drew inspiration from electronic circuit boards and piano rolls, translating technological shifts into geometric, calligraphic visual language. The exhibition also includes recent sculptures in bronze, marble, and wood, highlighting the continuity of his artistic evolution. Parallel to the show, the Fondazione Potenza Tamini (established 2023) launched the 'Progetto Giovani Talenti 2025', inviting young musicians and composers to create original performances based on Potenza's visual universe. A final concert is scheduled for December 9, 2025, at the Conservatorio Marcello in Venice.
