Giangiacomo Rossetti Prepares Venice Exhibition 'The Dead' Alongside Biennale

exhibition · 2026-05-06

Giangiacomo Rossetti, a 36-year-old artist from Milan and New York, is set to unveil his exhibition 'The Dead' in Venice, curated by Milovan Farronato, during the Biennale. This showcase includes large-scale paintings, notably a significant piece that reinterprets a 2018 work influenced by Giacomo Balla and Piero della Francesca. Rossetti, who utilizes photographs and a grid technique, characterizes his artistic approach as instinctual. The exhibition also features monotypes derived from family photos of his grandfather in Venice, with a recurring blue motif connecting these works and a woollen cloth from The Power Station in Dallas, reflecting his grandparents' legacy. His monograph 'Selected Paintings, 2016–2026' will be published by American Art Catalogues on May 4, and he plans to visit Japan later this year.
