Giancarlo De Carlo's notebooks on display at Triennale Milano
The exhibition 'I quaderni di Giancarlo De Carlo 1966-2005' at La Triennale di Milano presents the architect's personal notebooks, revealing his critical self-reflection and dialogue with contemporaries like Bob Venturi and Louis Kahn. Curated by Gatto Tonin Architetti under the artistic direction of Lorenza Baroncelli, the show emphasizes De Carlo's role as a traveling observer and his prophetic views on consumer society and nature, as seen in his 1968 notes on Pasolini. A centerpiece is a full-scale reconstruction of the living room from Casa Sichirollo, a project De Carlo himself considered a failure, created by Parasite 2.0. The exhibition also features photographic reports and journals, inviting visitors to read slowly and discover De Carlo's anti-dogmatic architectural philosophy. The curators recommend it especially to young architecture students.
