Gian Luca Eulisse's 'Europacittà' at Galleria SP3, Treviso

Gian Luca Eulisse's exhibition 'Europacittà' is on view at Galleria SP3 in Treviso until December 11, 2016. The show presents a photographic reportage created over ten years, covering fourteen major European cities. Eulisse uses a 4x5 inch analog folding camera to capture black-and-white images characterized by minimalist abstraction and subtractive geometry. The photographs are described as 'slow and absolute observations' by Gianantonio Battistella, selected and calibrated in the photographer's mind. The gallery, specialized in photography, architecture, and design, provides a fitting setting for the austere work, which references the tradition of travel reportage from the Mission Héliographique and the Grand Tour, as well as the architectural photography of Paolo Monti and Gabriele Basilico.
