Giaconia, Miliani, Zeneli: triple show at GAMeC Bergamo
GAMeC Bergamo presents a triple exhibition featuring Oscar Giaconia, Jacopo Miliani, and Driant Zeneli, three young Italian artists whose works share a performative approach. Giaconia's paintings, derived from photographic and video materials, create ambiguous guardian figures in a suffocating underworld atmosphere, referencing the Uffizi Diptych and incorporating prosthetics by Vittorio Sodano. Miliani's videos, selected for the 11th edition of Artists' Film International, explore identity through drag and vogueing, inspired by Pasolini's 'Teorema' and featuring performer Matyouz. Zeneli's trilogy reinterprets the Greek tragedy of hybris, depicting attempts to cross the sun, touch the moon, and draw a cloud as quixotic yet necessary endeavors. The exhibition runs at GAMeC Bergamo in 2019.
