German paediatrician charged with 130 sex offences

A doctor specializing in pediatrics at a hospital located near Berlin faces charges for 130 sexual offenses, which include grave sexual abuse of minors and rape. Most of these alleged incidents took place during the physician's tenure at the Havelland Kliniken hospital in Rathenow, situated to the west of Berlin. The charges, which were officially lodged on May 6, pertain to events that occurred from December 2013 to November 2025. Since November, the doctor has been held in pre-trial detention due to concerns about potential reoffending. The situation emerged after a mother reported her child in January, prompting police investigations and the collection of data storage devices. The Potsdam public prosecutor's office is looking into additional victims, while the Havelland Kliniken group has established a hotline for information, emphasizing that these allegations jeopardize patient trust.
