German Gallery Zweigstelle Capitain Opens Temporary Space in Naples

Zweigstelle Capitain, the itinerant project of Galerie Gisele Capitain, will open its third temporary exhibition space in Naples from March 18 to April 29, 2023. The space is hosted in Palazzo Degas, Piazza del Gesù, and features new works by Isabella Ducrot, Jacqueline Humphries, and Liza Lacroix in four distinct artist rooms. The gallery, founded in 1986 in Cologne, launched Zweigstelle after the pandemic as a mobile platform, starting in Rome in March 2022. The Naples edition includes a collateral program with concerts and performances: cellist Matt Haimovitz on March 18, mezzo-soprano Johanna Bretschneider on March 25, a book presentation by Ducrot on April 15, a performance by Ivan Cheng on April 22, and a finissage with Alvin Curran & Marcus Schmickler on April 29. A fourth edition is planned for September 2023 in Naples, featuring a solo show by British painter Jadé Fadojutimi. The gallery chose Naples for its unpredictable and emotional character, aiming to create a flexible platform for artists and local cultural exchange.
