Georgia school shooter sentenced to life without parole

Colt Gray, 16, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Tuesday for killing four people at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, in September 2024. Gray pleaded guilty to the attack, which he carried out at age 14 with a gun given to him by his father as a Christmas present. The victims included two 14-year-old pupils and two teachers; nine others were wounded. Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm imposed the sentence, stating that Gray was failed by his parents but that does not absolve him of his actions. Gray's father has been convicted of second-degree murder for providing the weapon.
