Georges Batzios Architects Proposes Raised Walkway for Tallinn Museum Quarter

architecture-design · 2026-04-24

Georges Batzios Architects has presented a vision for the Tallinn City Museum in Estonia, rethinking the museum district as an uninterrupted public space. The design features an elevated walkway that rises from the ground and traverses the area, linking essential cultural venues such as the City Museum, the Photo Museum, EKKM, and Kultuurikatel. This raised pathway serves both as infrastructure and storytelling, guiding visitor movement and enhancing spatial experiences. The proposal envisions the museum as part of a larger civic environment, increasing public areas while blending them with exhibition spaces. Titled 'The Path Where the City Remembers… – Open Collections Museum,' the project spans 16,000 sqm, with MEP engineering provided by Buro Happold.
