George Triggs' Monumental Benjamin Zephaniah Sculpture Debuts at TM Gallery

TM Gallery in London is hosting 'Poet of the People', marking the inaugural public display of George Triggs' impressive sculpture of poet Benjamin Zephaniah. Running from 19 August to 30 September 2026, this exhibition is co-curated by Ruth Millington and Hannah Payne. The sculpture, which is more than four times the size of an average person, features excerpts from Zephaniah's poem 'People Need People'. Additionally, the exhibition includes a carefully chosen selection of his poetry and a newly commissioned short film that chronicles the sculpture's creation. A series of talks and readings will also take place, highlighting Zephaniah's impact on literature and culture. Established nearly ten years ago by TM Lighting, TM Gallery is a not-for-profit contemporary art platform, with co-founder Andrew Molyneux emphasizing its mission to foster connections through art.
