Genti di Sicilia: Terracotta Figurines from the Bongiovanni Vaccaro Workshop at Teatro Donnafugata
A new exhibition, 'Genti di Sicilia. Opere dalla Bottega Bongiovanni Vaccaro', has debuted at the Teatro Donnafugata located in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily. Curated by Costantino D'Orazio, the display features stunning painted terracotta figures crafted in the late 1800s by notable artisans Giacomo Vaccaro and his nephew Giuseppe Bongiovanni Vaccaro, renowned figurinai from Caltagirone. Showcasing elements of Sicilian everyday life, these pieces have belonged to the Arezzo Donnafugata Collection for more than two centuries. Featuring designs by architects Nunzio Sciveres and Federico Guarini, the exhibition runs until July 8 and is organized by Artribune.
