Gensler and KFI Studios launch Canopy freestanding workstation

architecture-design · 2026-05-07

Architecture studio Gensler has partnered with US furniture brand KFI Studios to create Canopy, a freestanding workstation designed for open-plan offices. The unit features a height-adjustable desk for sitting or standing, an upholstered hood that dampens noise and reduces distractions, and integrated lighting with a ring light effect for virtual meetings. An optional occupancy sensor helps save energy. Canopy includes power points and USB charging, and is available in wood veneer, laminate, or upholstery finishes, with a choice of seven fabrics from Gabriel or Kvadrat. Gensler design director Daniel Stromborg said the design aimed to bring calm to open environments while supporting flexibility and boundaries. Dimensions are 1549.4 x 914.4 x 1778-2286 mm.
