festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Genoa is set to honor the 200th anniversary of poet Charles Baudelaire in June 2021, commencing on June 11 at the Corte Maggiore of Palazzo Ducale. The event will showcase 'Baudelaire à jamais. Premier Acte,' an installation by Elisabeth Vermeer, as part of the 27th International Poetry Festival Parole Spalancate, running from June 10 to June 19. This installation features six unique bas-reliefs representing Baudelaire's significant characters, enhanced with fabrics by Silvia Zambarbieri. Following this, 'Baudelaire à jamais. Deuxième Acte' will debut at Palazzo Doria Spinola on June 19 during the Biennale d'Arte di Genova (June 19-July 3). Additional installations, 'I Fiori del Male,' will be presented at Parco Storico Villa Duchessa di Galliera on June 20, and 'Les Tableaux du Mal. Beauté maudite' will open at Manifattura Tabacchi on June 26. The tribute will wrap up on July 3 with lectures from Vermeer and Enrico Giordano.
