Geneva collective MMMMM launches interdisciplinary music project with Terry Riley focus

The Geneva-based collective MMMMM, which focuses on curatorial, editorial, research, and production activities, has initiated an extensive collaborative endeavor that examines the interplay between music and various art forms. Entitled 'By repetition, you start noticing details in the landscape,' a phrase by composer Terry Riley, this project features an exhibition, concerts, and film screenings at several locations in the Swiss city until January 19, 2020. The exhibition at Le Commun showcases approximately fifty artists, pairing works from historical figures like Jordan Belson, Channa Horwitz, and Pauline Oliveros with contemporary pieces from emerging creators. Earlier this year, the collective—composed of Yann Chateigné, Wendy Coutau, Justine Dufour, and others—conducted research in San Francisco archives. Additionally, a film series is being held at Cinema Dynamo and Sputnik, while performances are scheduled at Cave12, Alhambra, and Théâtre du Galpon. They are also preparing to publish the first monograph on Terry Riley in 2020 and aim to take the project on an international tour in the future.
