exhibition · 2026-05-05

On display at Palazzo Albergati in Bologna until March 26, 2017, is the Gelman Collection, showcasing 20th-century Mexican art curated by Gioia Mori. This collection, brought together by Jacques Gelman and Natasha Zahalkaha—who were friends of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera—features approximately thirty pieces, including Rivera's portrait of Natasha Gelman (1943) and Kahlo's works "Autoritratto con collana" (1933) and "L'abbraccio amorevole dell'universo" (1949). The exhibition also presents videos, photographs, a recreation of Kahlo's room, and garments from designers such as Antonio Marras and Jean-Paul Gaultier. It concludes with Violeta Parra's "Gracias a la vida."
