Gecko Museum Opens in Dallas, Texas for Crested Gecko 'The Mayor'

During quarantine, Jill Young created a miniature museum for her crested gecko named The Mayor in her Dallas, Texas home. The Gecko Museum features tiny artworks parodying famous paintings, such as 'La nascita di Geco', 'Il Geco con l'orecchino di perla', 'L'urlo del Geco', and 'American Geco'. The gecko can walk on the walls, and toothpicks with red strings serve as social distancing barriers, which The Mayor easily bypasses. Young was inspired by a previous gerbil museum built in London by Filippo Lorenzin and Marianna Benetti. She expressed interest in seeing other animals join the initiative, mentioning a fish museum idea on Twitter. The museum was reported by Hyperallergic.
