Gavin Turk to Transform Sir John Soane's Museum with New Commissions
A significant exhibition featuring British artist Gavin Turk will take place at Sir John Soane's Museum in London from 14th July 2027 to 16th January 2028. This showcase will include new commissions and interventions that interact with the Museum's Building Archive, which contains fragments of daily life from 1837 to the present. Turk plans to create pieces in response to these artifacts, such as sculptures of teazels and a crow. The highlight of the exhibition will be 'Looking Glass' (2015), a dichroic glass cube displayed in the Foyle Space. Helen Dorey will co-curate the objects from the Building Archive. Born in Guildford, Surrey, in 1967, Turk rose to fame with his 1991 degree show 'Cave' and has pieces in Tate, MoMA, and the V&A.
