gaSSz arquitectos Unveils Circulating Garden for Madrid's CIEC

The Circular Economy Innovation Center (CIEC) in Madrid's Vicálvaro district has expanded its outdoor spaces with the 'Circulating Garden,' a pilot project for a circular, vegetated public space designed by gaSSz arquitectos. The 2,400 square meter garden, completed in 2025, extends the center's activities into the surrounding plot, benefiting the entire city. Lead architects Diego García-Setién and Silvia Sánchez led the design team, which included María Abad, Ainhoa Church, and Mario Beltrame. Structural engineering was provided by Ricardo Cuevas, while Antonio Moreno and SYLTEC handled services. Photographs of the project were taken by Emilio Parra Doiztua. The garden is categorized under installations and structures and workshop typologies. The project was curated by Valentina Díaz and was originally described in Spanish. The design aims to create a circular and vegetated public space, serving as an innovative model for urban sustainability.
