Gary Moore's Personal Collection Sells Out at Bonhams Auction in London

The Gary Moore Collection: The Final Encore auction at Bonhams New Bond Street in London concluded on 20 November with all 76 lots sold, generating £1,065,194. A 1960 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, one of Moore's longest-serving instruments, fetched £254,400. This guitar was prominently used on his 1982 album Corridors Of Power, specifically on the track Intro/End Of The World featuring Jack Bruce, and during solo tours from 1982/3 onward. It also appears on the 1990 Still Got The Blues album on tracks Too Tired and Moving On, and was played at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The sale followed a free public exhibition at Bonhams showcasing Moore's personal collection of guitars, stage clothing, amplifiers, and accessories. The auction marked the final dispersal of these items associated with the musician's career.
