In 2026, Garrison Brothers, the oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas, will unveil its annual Cowboy Bourbon, which will be bottled at 141 proof. This marks the twelfth iteration, crafted by master distiller Donnis Todd, and has been aged for at least eight years without cuts or filtration. Established in 2006 in Hye, Texas, the distillery launched its inaugural bourbon in 2010. Known for its bold character, the bourbon matures in the state's arid climate using a variety of barrel sizes. The upcoming release has a lower proof than the previous year's 146.4. On September 12, the first 1,000 of the 16,000 bottles will be sold for $250, accompanied by an event featuring food, music, and tastings, while online sales for 279 bottles commence on September 18.
