Garbatella Images: diffused exhibition in Rome explores time through photography and video
The second edition of Garbatella Images, a diffused exhibition in Rome's Garbatella district, runs from December 5 to 20. Curated by Sara Alberani with artistic direction by Francesco Zizola, the project unfolds across 10b Photography spaces and the historic lots of the neighborhood. This year's edition, titled "Il tempo sensibile. Fermo – immagine, memoria, sincronicità," features photographs by Silvia Camporesi and videos by Claudia De Nicolò (aka Lola) and Mohamed Hossameldin. Hossameldin's short film "Climax" captures a dreamlike journey through Garbatella from night to dawn. The exhibition continues its investigation into the past, present, and future of the district through research into private archives and new works by international artists. A new video section has been added, funded by Roma Capitale – Municipio Roma VIII and in collaboration with AAMOD (Fondazione Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico). The curatorial concept frames "sensitive time" as a non-Cartesian, personal dimension shaped by memory, synchronicity, and sensory perception, which guided the artists' engagement with the territory and its inhabitants.
