GAMeC Bergamo's 'Pensare come una montagna' biennial spreads across Orobie Alps
The GAMeC in Bergamo, directed by Lorenzo Giusti, has launched the fifth and final cycle of 'Pensare come una montagna – Il Biennale delle Orobie', a biennial that unfolds over two years rather than every two years, with 23 events across the Orobie Alps. The project aims to dynamically transition the museum to a new location by engaging local communities. Works include Gaia Fugazza's 'Mother of Millions', a monumental clay sculpture in a stable; Bianca Bondi's 'Graces for Gerosa', a dance-inspired installation in a deconsecrated church; Agnese Galiotto's fresco 'La montagna non esiste' in Almenno San Bartolomeo; Abraham Cruzvillegas' sound-activated installation at Fondazione Dalmine; Pedro Vaz's painting 'Becoming Mountain' at GAMeC; a 10-year retrospective of Atelier dell'Errore titled 'TEN'; a workshop by Asunción Molinos Gordo on seeds kinship; and a dance performance by Cecilia Bengolea at the Convento di Astino. The biennial has increased public attention to contemporary art and museum activities.
