GAMeC Bergamo Launches Radio GAMeC Real Live with Five Outdoor Performances

GAMeC Bergamo, under director Lorenzo Giusti, is transforming its acclaimed Instagram radio project into a live format. Radio GAMeC, which broadcast daily for 66 days during lockdown and was recognized by UNESCO, will host five free outdoor events in the museum's courtyard starting June 18. Performers include Nic Cester, Cristiano Godano, Andrea Pennacchi, Alessandro Sciarroni, and Virgilio Sieni, offering concerts, readings, and dance. The stage is the Videomobile by MASBEDO, previously seen at Manifesta 12 in Palermo, which will also serve as the basis for a new MASBEDO work about Bergamo produced by Beatrice Bulgari for In Between Art Film. The museum reopened with a show by Antonio Rovaldi at Accademia Carrara, and plans a major Daniel Buren exhibition in July at Palazzo della Ragione. In late June, GAMeC will become a summer campus for children. Giusti, now interim president of AMACI after Gianfranco Maraniello's resignation, emphasizes the museum's civic role and the need for sustainable, community-focused programming.
