GAMeC Bergamo 2026 Program Focuses on Education as Emancipation

institutional · 2026-03-24

GAMeC Bergamo has announced its 2026 program, centered on education as a tool for emancipation and social transformation. Directed by Lorenzo Giusti, the museum's third strategic sector will be education, inspired by Brazilian pedagogue Paulo Freire's 'Pedagogy of Hope.' The program includes two exhibitions: Ana Silva's 'Eau' (Feb 26–Sep 6) addressing water access with local embroiderers, and Selma Selman's site-specific project (Oct 1–Jan 24) exploring identity and social hierarchies. A Public Program with monthly meetings will involve experts, international institutions, and artists, in collaboration with Fondazione Dalmine and Fosbury Architecture, which will create a modular installation at Palazzo della Ragione. RADIO GAMeC will launch a new education-focused platform. The program precedes the museum's move to a new venue in the former sports hall on via Pitentino.
