GAM Torino presents 'Un altro Novecento' with over 600 works on paper

GAM Torino's exhibition 'Un altro Novecento' showcases over 600 drawings, prints, watercolors, and paintings on paper from its collections, spanning the 20th century. The show is the fourth installment of 'La Quarta Risonanza,' a series exploring different artistic themes. Curated by Fabio Cafagna and Elena Volpato, the exhibition is arranged chronologically across 21 rooms, featuring works by Lucio Fontana (30 sheets), Giorgio Morandi, Leonardo Bistolfi, Medardo Rosso, Max Beckmann, Max Ernst, Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Felice Casorati, Luigi Spazzapan, Mario Sironi, Arturo Martini, Carol Rama, Mino Maccari, Robert Rauschenberg (a restored triptych), Mario Merz, Giuseppe Penone, and Eliseo Mattiacci. A dedicated room hosts 'l'intruso,' artist Pesce Khete, who engages with the collection through paper-based works. The exhibition emphasizes conservation and restoration, supported by Consulta di Torino and Fondazione Guido e Ettore De Fornaris for restorations, and Allemandi and Fondazione Arte CRT for the catalog.
