Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026: Kreuzberg Highlights

Gallery Weekend Berlin returned in May 2026, with Kreuzberg galleries drawing crowds. At Ebensperger, performance artist Göksu Kunak presented 'THE VOID,' but the space was too full for entry. Paint Shop featured Jens Einhorn's 'Reise ohne Ende,' a series of brightly colored paintings and collages referencing his upbringing in the former GDR, including the work 'Wendekind' (2025) that alludes to the 'Baseballschlägerjahre' of early-1990s right-wing violence. Galerie Barbara Thumm hosted Gülbin Ünlü's Berlin debut 'Almost Ünlü,' featuring sci-fi, glitchy prints that reference Berlin's ghosts and icons like Füruzan, Klaus Nomi, David Bowie, and Grace Jones. The evening concluded at Klemm's with a record release by Wolfgang Tillmans and Juan Pablo Echevarri, featuring a performance by pole dancer and DJ FRZNTE. The event spanned May 1–2, 2026, with exhibitions continuing through June.
