Gallery Climate Coalition launches Climate Action Services International consultancy
On Earth Day 2026, the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC) launched Climate Action Services International (Casi), a consultancy designed to help galleries, museums, and cultural organizations translate climate commitments into measurable action. Founded by Heath Lowndes, Casi emerged from a pilot phase working with English Heritage, Hauser & Wirth, and Art Fund, and is backed by seed funding from Murmur. Unlike traditional consultancies, Casi is a mission-driven social enterprise that will reinvest 51% of its profits into GCC. The consultancy offers carbon auditing, decarbonisation strategies, governance advice, and staff training, tailored to the visual arts sector's unique challenges such as international shipping and energy-intensive installations. GCC, launched in London in 2020, had restructured in September 2024 by closing its chapters except the London headquarters due to funding constraints. Casi joins a small group of climate consultants serving the art industry, including Ki Culture, Laura Lupton, and Rute Collaborative.
